Your Guide

Hi my name is Daniel Tarbox and I'm a life long Stillwater fishermen. I started my angling journey with my dad (Phil Tarbox) at the ripe young age of 5. I grew up fishing with my father almost every weekend and continue to this very day. Being originally from England I grew up targeting carp and other coarse fish, which is a totally different fishing culture and requires different Stillwater fishing tactics. The roots of my angling journey help me to think outside the box and create unique/unconventional ideas and approaches to local Stillwater fly fishing that have proven to be quite successful.

I  graduated with a degree in psychology in 2021 at UBCO, which I also credit to my unique approach to Stillwater fly fishing. I try to incorporate the knowledge I have gleaned from classes in cognition and learning, into my approach to teaching and guiding prospective anglers. By keeping tactics simple, easy to understand, and most importantly fun, clients will have an amazing time on the water.

Mission

To share my passion of Stillwater fishing for rainbow trout using imitative flies. Stillwater fly fishing is what I live for and sharing that joy I feel with other anglers is the best feeling in the world.

Vision

To provide and promote the growth/knowledge of a more accessible form of fly fishing, so that anyone who wishes to take part in this amazing past time is able to do so. Anyone can catch lots of fish with just a little guidance.
